Flower Oils and Creams
1) Sometimes clients prefer to not use the oils internally or to supplement their internal use with external applications. Oils and cream are designed for this purpose.
2) The oils are a triple cocktail of A) carrier oil, B) Essential oil, and C) flower essences. They can work on the physical and emotional levels in a gentle manner.
Definitions:
Carrier Oil: grain, vegetable, or nut oil pressed from the plant i.e. sunflower, almond, grapeseed, or canola oil.
Infused Oils: Such as Calendula-
In this example, marigold flowers are soaked in carrier oils. The flowers are changed when their potency has faded and replaced into the carrier mixture until the vegetable oil is rich with the flower. The infused oil is a mix of carrier and plant infused in the oil.
Essential Oil: Very potent, usually steam distilled plant extract. Flowers, fruits, bark, or leaves are steam distilled. It can take 1 lb. of the plant to make a drop of essential oil. Due to the potency of the essential oils very little is needed. They are used medicinally, for skincare, and emotionally.
To make your own flower oil– buy a carrier that complements your flower essence. Ensure your client does not have an allergy to this. Add 6-12 drops of flower essence per 30 MLS of oil. You may also make an infused oil, and/or add essential oils to the mix.
Refrigerate and use within two years.
